This story was such a fun and heartfelt read. The premise alone—four older gay men in Palm Springs performing a Golden Girls drag show as “The Golden Gays”—immediately pulled me in, but what kept me listening was the friendship and community between the characters.
The book balances humor, drama, and found-family moments really well. Each character brings a different personality and life experience to the group, and watching their relationships evolve while dealing with their own personal challenges was both entertaining and touching.
The narration worked well for the story and helped bring the characters and their personalities to life.
If you enjoy LGBTQ+ stories with strong friendships, humor, and a bit of Palm Springs flair, this one is definitely worth checking out.
I received this book as an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.
