If you love a spy-themed romance where the tension between characters feels just as important as the stakes themselves… Spies, Lies, & Alibis is going to be right up your alley.

💜 The Premise
Spies, Lies & Alibis blends mystery, secrets, and relationship drama into a fast-paced story that kept me fully invested from beginning to end. Ben Bradley is an undercover FBI agent trying to take down a dangerous criminal. Cybil Langford is the girl from his past who Ben needs to figure out if she’s an innocent party or involved with the criminals. The story quickly pulled me into a web of deception (yeah, Craige), forcing the characters to navigate both emotional complications and dangerous truths. Ben Bradley had my heart at “This would never happen to Bond.”

💥 The Dynamic
The chemistry between Ben and Cybil is out of this world and their banter had me deeply invested. This book reads like a romantic comedy with funny moments for our favorite couple. But it also had some truly emotional moments, exposing the characters’ hearts as we find out why their relationship failed in the past.
While the chemistry between Ben and Cybil is strong, this book leans far more into emotional connection, banter, and relationship tension than explicit romance scenes. Readers looking for heavy spice should know this story focuses much more on the mystery, humor and emotional relationship dynamics than on-page explicit scenes. Not going to lie, I would have loved a few more romantic moments and intimacy between the characters.
I also wanted more page time for the side characters, especially Ben’s fellow FBI agents, Cybil’s family, and Ben’s grandmother, who absolutely deserves a book of her own. Fans of Jesse Q. Sutanto’s Vera Wong books will love Ben’s grandmother and will absolutely want more!

⏱️ Pacing & Progression
This book was fast paced, keeping the reader turning the page until there were no more pages to be turned.
The audiobook is narrated by Andrew Eiden (whose voice I recognize from books such as Elle Kennedy’s The Score and Liz Maverick’s Cozy for the Holidays) and Dominique Salvacion (whose voice I recognized from Christina Lauren’s Accidentally Yours). This dynamic duo narrated the book well and kept me engaged and captivated by the dialogue.

✨ Final Thoughts
Natalie Walters delivered a story that was equal parts entertaining, emotional, and impossible to put down. Fans of romantic suspense with strong emotional tension, witty banter, and lovable side characters will absolutely want to pick this one up.
